Directions to Hillsdale House InnThe Hillsdale House Inn is located at 519 St. George Street, in historic Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia. Set on 12 acres of land the inn is located less than a block from the Annapolis Royal Historic Gardens. Dining, shopping, museums and Fort Anne National Historic Site are only minutes away and within easy walking distance. Conveniently located in Southwestern Nova Scotia we are a perfect location for day trips to all destinations in the southwest region. Travelling west on Route 101 from Halifax Take exit 22 to Annapolis Royal - you will then be traveling on Route 8 which turns into St. George Street in Annapolis Royal. The inn is located on the left. For a more scenic route, take exit 20 at Bridgetown and travel along Route 1 to Annapolis Royal. At the traffic lights turn left onto St. George Street and we are located just past the Historic Gardens on the right. (Driving time is approximately 2 hours.) Travelling east on Route 101 from Yarmouth/Digby Take exit 22 to Annapolis Royal - you will then be traveling on Route 8 which turns into St. George Street in Annapolis Royal. The inn is located on the left. For a more scenic route, take exit 23 toward Clementsport/Cornwallis and travel along Route 1 to Annapolis Royal. At the traffic lights turn right onto St. George Street and we are located just past the Historic Gardens on the right. (Driving time from Yarmouth is approximately 1.5 hours, and from Digby is approximately 30 minutes) Route 8 from South Shore and Kejimkujik National Park Approaching Annapolis Royal on Route 8 we are located on the left just before the Historic Gardens. (Driving time from Liverpool is approximately 1.5 hours, and from Kejimkujik National Park is approximately 40 minutes.) How do I get there? Nova Scotia is easily accessable by Air, Sea or Land. Via Air Halifax Stanfield International Airport is located just outside the capital city of Halifax, approximately 2 ½ hours from Annapolis Royal. For information about airlines and schedules visit www.hiaa.com. Ferry There is daily ferry service operating between Digby, NS and Saint John, NB. This is a car/passenger service operated by Bay Ferries. For schedules and fares visit www.ferries.ca. From June 15 to September 30 there will be daily service between Yarmouth, NS and Portland, ME on the new CAT Ferry. This is a high speed car/passenger service which will make the crossing in about 6 hours. For schedules and fares visit www.ferries.ca. Highway Nova Scotia is connected to mainland Canada at the New Brunswick border. Travelling the Trans-Canada Highway east from New Brunswick you will enter Nova Scotia in the Amherst area. From there it is roughly a 3.5 - 4 hour drive to Annapolis Royal. |
